Personal dictionary / auto-replace functionality

Auto-replacement is a convenient feature of smartphone keyboards. It's handy to be able to type "--" and see it instantly become a "—"

Yet, as far as I'm aware, no such tool exists in the Arch realm. Is anyone aware of any packages that might implement this simple functionality?

Re: Personal dictionary / auto-replace functionality

Compose key will print an emdash when you type two dashes (as well as a myriad of other special characters).

You can also customise your own outputs for specific binds, eg:

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
