[KDE] no buttons image for Breeze Window Decoration

hi everyone

I'm experiencing a strange behavior, yesterday I changed the window decoration theme, just to make a test,then I went back to Breeze and suddenly the default buttons image are wrong - attaching a picture to let you know (basically it seems like the theme cannot access to the icon images)

these are the buttons I currently have:

these are the buttons I think I should see:

please notice that the second image is taken from the active window control addin of the top panel, which takes the standard breeze image set.

not sure what you may need, let's start with plasma and qt versions:
KDE Plasma Version 5.19.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.71.0
Qt Version: 5.15.0
