After what seems to have been a system update and / or an update on Steam, it is no longer possible to click on the Dota 2 icon on the taskbar to bring up the game again. The game screen will flash for a split second, but the game doesn't show up as it should and the desktop remains visible. Also, more peculiar still, is that the compositor in KDE doesn't even seem to work while Dota 2 is running (once the game is closed it starts working again). It is possible to alt-tab back into the game, however, despite these problems.
This is strange and extremely annoying, considering it was working perfectly not long ago.
The system is using largely default settings for KDE and Plasma, and for the last few months, since the system was built and installed, there was never any similar problem. I have not changed any settings in KDE or Steam or Dota 2 recently.
Has anyone experienced any similar problem with KDE as of late, where it is not possible to bring up a game by clicking on the taskbar? Thank you.
