I'm trying to setup an app called WoMic which uses your phone microphone as a microphone for your PC. Following the Linux tutorial here, I have:
-Setup a new loopback module (I think) with
sudo modprobe snd-aloop
-Connected to my phone by running the app with my IP, which also produces this warning:
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1089:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
which also happens when I use 'aplay'
However from there the guide just says "Now third party program can make use of captured data through loopback device.", and I'm a bit confused. I'm not at all experienced with audio in linux so I have no idea what I should be doing. Specifically, I want to use this for Discord, however the only two options I have for input devices there are "Default" and "Built-in audio analog stereo", neither of which produce any results. In Pavu Control, I have a WEBRTC VoiceEngine in the Recording tab (and nothing else), which shows up when I enter a Discord Call. It isn't showing any sound when I speak into my phone.
EDIT: Figured out it was using ALSA and not PulseAudio (duuh) and had to switch to another app since I'm pretty sure Discord doesn't like ALSA.
