Hi, I can't solve an issue I'm having (linux and linux-lts) after resuming from hibernation the second time around. Resuming after first hibernation works just fine. SDDM greeter shows up, I login, KDE Plasma and all previously open apps show up again. When I then, again hibernate, the second resume ends in a black screen with mouse cursor. The system is up (I can even NX to it with nomachine) but even then black screen, cursor. I can switch to TTY2, 3, ... I can login, etc. Switching back to TTY1: black screen + cursor. Tried killing/replacing kwin_x11, plasmashell. All kinds of keyboard combo's. Nothing. Hitting Meta shows a partial menu but still nothing. Running latest versions of Arch and Plasma. Don't know where to look. Also tried some advice on loading modules (mkinitcpio.conf), no luck. Graphics is NVIDIA. Overall zero to none issues, like to solve this one too. Thx for your help, regards, Zach

Are you on nvidia 450.57?

Hi, yes: nvidia-lts 1:450.57-2
Regards, Zach
PS: for now i disabled screen locking after waking from sleep (via System Settings in KDE Plasma) - now I resume to the desktop (also 2nd time after hibernate)
Still would like to find out how to: and screen lock (sddm) and resume from hibernate more than once without issues

1. Run this in terminal:
sudo nvidia-bug-report.sh
This will create nvidia-bug-report.log.gz file
2. Send this file and how to reproduce issue to this email: linux-bugs [ at ] nvidia [ dot ] com

Hi, done! Not expecting any feedback though. Can imagine NVIDIA is not going to research this? Regards, Zach

They are trying to reproduce this. I have reported this bug during 450.51 beta, but looks like they can't reproduce it.

I submitted bug report to for my machine. Hope they will listen.
Do you guys also have a problem the desktop freezing when the auto-screenlock function is enabled? If I set my PC to screenlock (after 5 minutes) occasionally, the PC will freeze instead of rendering the screenlock greeter and the only way out is to TTY out of it. Manually invoking the screenlock doesn't have any problem.

I have same issue. It freezes screen from time to time, does not depend if lock happens automatically or manually.

I've got the exact same issue as described by TS, are the reports still required? (nvidia 450.66-14)

As I've posted in this thread, nvidia is aware of the problem and they are able to reproduce it.
Initially they were unable to reproduce it but they were using Ubuntu on an older kernel as a test bed. I was able to convince them to test on an Arch system with the new kernels and they confirmed they are reproducing the problem.
So hopefully a fix should come when nvidia has another update but I reckon we'll have to wait for a major update.

Hi, since I'm on plasmashell 5.20.2 and nvidia-dkms 455.38-1 things run quite smooth again... :-)) Zach
