kernel 2.6 and terminal in gnome

Today i have compeled succesfully my 2.6 into arch and yes i got sound(see previous topics)
Everything is working exept the terminal.I am not geting any output neither i can type any commands.I believe i didnt compile some module.Any help?

I believe this is something to do with needing a /dev/pts something in ftsab after upgrading to kernel 2.6*. If you search the forums you should find it mentioned in a few threads. Sorry I can't be more specific - away from my machine at the moment...:(

yes please do a forum search prior to asking.  i think even the 2.6 kernel news story mentions the changes you need to make for installing the 2.6 series kernels.

well i did a search but i didnt know for what to search!now that i know for what to search i found the solution at google.For others n00bs like me i give the code to the masses
/etc/fstab

devpts                 /dev/pts  devpts    defaults               0      0

a forum search (all you had to enter was 2.6) would have netted you results you needed. i believe even one of the archllinux.org news articles mentions what fstab line to enter.

remember even searches with the bare minimum of search item can produce results.
