[PulseAudio/ALSA] Headphones always deteced / configuration reset

Hi,

I'm currently working on a HP ProBook 6450b and here are all the issues with the audio configuration:
1 - The system seems to always think headphones are connected even if it's not the case, muting the speaker.
2 - I force the unmute on the speaker with alsamixer, level the db and disabling the auto-mute, this work.
3 - Even if i use: sudo alsactl store, the speaker is always reset to 0 and muted on reboot.

What I have already tried:
1 - Disabling this option in pulseaudio configuration:

load-module module-device-restore

2 - Add used user to the audio group

I stay at your disposition if you need any more information.

What a want to accomplish is to have the speaker used by default if no heaphones are pluged in and make this configuration persistent on reboot.

What's your

pacmd list-cards
pacmd list-sinks
amixer -c0

during working and not working? FWIW disabling device-restore most likely has the opposite effect of what you want as that will ensure that the device is always brought up in the "incorrect" state without pulse doing corrective measures, adding to the audio group will also not fix incorrect hw initialization state and does potentially have other repercussions.

What I understand from this is that the speaker output is unavailable for wathever reason.
The speaker amplification is also set by default to ~ -infinite dB wich make them mute.
In this state, gnome only shows "Audio Headphones - Internal Audio" in sounds peripherals.
To have sounds coming out from the speakers I have to manualy unmute and set amplification up on the speaker with alsamixer.

Only the amplification and mute state change in the amixer command and gnome still shows "Audio Headphones - Audio Internal".
But, sounds comes out from the speaker.
Even when doing alsactl store, this configuration is lost upon boot.
