I don't have any nvidia conf file and everything runs fine. But I need to create one containing the coolbits options to be able to downvolt/downclock my GPU and thus avoid overheating while gaming (as per Wiki).
However, when I create the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-nvidia.conf, the system does not start anymore. The file contains:

Following the Wiki - X fails with "no screens found" when using Multiple GPUs, I added the busID to the nvidia conf, but no success yet. Any ideas are welcome!

Ok, got it working. The /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-nvidia.conf file must have both integrated and discrete GPUs as separated device sections in the file. My file, now booting normally, is:

EndSectionAnyway, coolbits option is not working as expected. But it is an issue for another post (#257891).
