pwmconfig: There are no usable PWM outputs

Hi,
I've been trying to get fancontrol to work. I read the wikipage on it, and followed the instructions. I ran sudo pwmconfig, and directly after the first answer pwm config returned: pwmconfig: There are no usable PWM outputs. I've googled it, but haven't found any resolutions. Any ideas?

The major factor on whether you can control your fans is dependant on the system you are trying this on, so what are you using here (HW vendor, model )?

Hint, many laptops do not allow you to control this.
