Pandoc fussy about lua versions

I'm trying to install pandoc but pacman gives up on the lua package. I already have lua 5.3.5-3 installed to support other important apps, but when pacman lists all the dependencies before installing, it lists lua53-5.3.5-1.   Fussy! What is the proper workaround?

Re: Pandoc fussy about lua versions

Please paste the full output of `pacman -Syu --debug pandoc`. Note, lua is at 5.4.0-2 so you need to update your full system.

Re: Pandoc fussy about lua versions

I think I'll wait. The electric company in my area is going to shut off overnight starting Wednesday.  After every power outage, I do a full update. Things will probably work out fine after that.
