I have an Acer R240HY and it keeps randomly disconnecting when I'm playing the Witcher 3 through WINE using Lutris. I'll be playing the game, and the monitor disconnects and cycles through all the possible inputs, trying to find a signal. I then have to wait around 3-5 seconds for it to reconnect. The game won't detect my input for the first few seconds (I can hear UI sounds if I move my mouse around just before it's about to reconnect), even though it's seemingly only the monitor that's disconnecting. There are no other graphical or performance issue with the game.
Another thing that might be helpful is that the game can't be alt-tabbed back into if I alt-tab out of it while the monitor is disconnected. I can usually alt-tab in and out of the game just fine. These are some relevant looking WINE messages:
WARNING: Experimental compiler backend enabled. Here be dragons! Incorrect rendering, GPU hangs and/or resets are likely

Never found the initial process' return code. Weird?
Exit with returncode 0Somebody on Reddit said this 2 months back:
Your GPU is performing a hard reset, it might have hit a stuck shader or some other issue kernel/driver related causing the GPU to hang and force a reset. Currently Navi GPU don't have soft recovery and with driver issues regarding Navi you'll have occasional hangs.
Usually this shows up as a multi colored snow also. You have to restart Wayland/x11 when this happens because the compositor is choking trying to recover and fails.
When asked what I could do, they said this:
I know there are some suggestions around that might help but AFAIK we're waiting for fixes in Mesa and Kernel. Kernel stuff should be in good shape for 5.8. You can check out the mesa issue tracker on their gitlab.
I'm on Kernel version 5.8 now, and it still hasn't been fixed. I also looked through the Mesa bugtracker like they said, and couldn't find a relevant bug report. Here's a link to that thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/wine_gaming/co … aying_the/
