[Solved] GDM-Plymouth - Can't log-in nor get into a tty

Hello, first critical issue I've ever stumbled upon in Arch. Really worried.

Today I updated my system (sudo pacman -Syu). I was on a train with cellular data, everything went well. I kept doing my thing with my laptop and finally I shut it down. Now I booted it again with no luck.

My hooks in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf are

HOOKS=(base udev plymouth autodetect keyboard keymap modconf block plymouth-encrypt filesystems resume fsck)

and my modules

MODULES=(amdgpu)

While arch-chroot-ed,

pacdiff

and

find / -name *pacnew

report nothing.

If I boot without

splash quiet

and with

loglevel=3

I can see it gets stuck in "Starting Hold until boot process finishes up...". And then I can't even get into another TTY. It just doesn't present the text to login.

This laptop is my main machine. I would highly appreciate help.

EDIT: I have found the issue. One package that got updated was

gdm-plymouth

( https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/gdm-plymouth/ ) and people are already complaining. I will install the standard GDM. Marking as solved as we should expect a fix soon enough.
