No sound through headphone jack, but it is recognized by the system
Hello,
For the last weeks I have been unable to get the headphone jack of my laptop to work, although the system does recognize that it has been plugged and I can see in alsamixer that the speaker gets muted and headphone unmuted.
My built-in speaker works fine.
I'm not sure if relevant, but I have a dedicated graphics card from nvidia that I have to activate with `pvkrun xrandr ...` to configure my two external monitors, as I noticed audio outputs from hdmi. One monitor is plugged to the hdmi and the other to a usb-c to hdmi adaptor.
I checked the forum extensively (hence the weeks) and nothing worked.
I tried already using the lts version of the kernel but it hasn't worked too.

Have you confirmed that the output source changes? You might have to change it manually. I would recommend installing pavucontrol and navigating to "Output Devices". There you should be able to change the port.

Hello, I tried that before, but it makes no difference as it changes by itself the port.
When I have nothing plugged in it shows "Speakers" as the output port and when with the headphone plugged it shows "Headphones (plugged in)".
In both cases the audio bar moves according to the audio being played, but when with the headphones no sound comes out of them (I tested with two other headphones as well).

I do not know if you fixed this issue, but I had the same, and fixed by creating this file :
