Re: Desktop Environment is Not Working Properly

Your image host requires me to go through a ridiculous number of captchas to see your problem.

More information is required. What did you do instead of following the gnome wiki article?

Re: Desktop Environment is Not Working Properly

You now have two open topics with the same title: "Post Installation Issue". Please read How to Post and change your topic title to one that describes your problem. This will help people identify your topic as one they might be able to help you with.

Also please remove the redundant "Help me" -- we know you need help.

Re: Desktop Environment is Not Working Properly

Did you install the gnome metapackage, or just gnome-shell?

No, that's not how the forums work.  Provide the information here, ideally as text in code tags, but if images are necessary, then provide functional links to the actual images.

EDIT: I see the images are available in the first post.

Re: Desktop Environment is Not Working Properly

I recommend asking a moderator to move your thread to Applications & Desktop Environments - you're more likely to find GNOME users there. I don't run GNOME, but I'll wager this: what are you *expecting* to see after you log in? On Arch, there may be few default apps installed so the empty desktop may be by design?

Also, as Awebb already asked: did you follow the Arch Wiki article on GNOME? Are you starting it manually or via GDM?
