I've checked unstable and testing for the new beta drivers, I've seemed to have failed somewhere, the nvidia packages on all 3 repo's(current, unstable, testing) have the same version number. I just want to try the beta drivers out to get rid of Xgl and use AIGLX. Also I have something in mind that is another question, say I do manage to upgrade to the beta drivers and they fail to work(which they usually do for me), I technically can just comment out testing and unstable and reinstall the ones from current to get back on the ball correct?

Yes. Commenting out [testing] and [unstable] and then pacman -S nvidia will roll back the driver to [current].
fck art, lets dance.

I get this error message when trying to use the beta drivers:
(EE) NVIDIA Kernel Drivers 1.0.9625-1 do not match the X server drivers 1.0.8774-2 please make sure they matchOffline
(Re)install the nvidia-utils from the beta repo. I had the same problem and that fixed it.

Alright, will do. Are you using compiz or beryl?
Offline
Well, neither. I had beryl a bit before using nvidia extensions (like you want) when I decided to do a minimal environment (OpenBox). But I am considering setting up xfce4-svn and beryl along side openbox when I feel like seeing some windows wobble
But reinstalling nvidia-utils will fix that error you spoke of above.

Indeed it did, I think I'll install beryl later and give it a test run with the new drivers
. Thanks for the fix, I realized as soonan s you said it what my mistake was xD

Hehe, the new drivers work really well. I tried glxgears with the nonbeta drivers and I got around 20 FPS. With beta drivers I got around 5000 FPS, still slightly disappointed 'cause I know a guy with the same card as me (7800GS AGP) and he gets 8000
and other guy with 7600GT who gets 10000
. Anyway, not like I do much gaming on linux.
Inform us of your success or, hopefully not, failure with beryl.

Have you tried overclocking your card some? I overclocked mine a bit and got an extra 400fps or so.
