error on restart: rmi4_physical rmi4-00: Failed to read irqs, code=-6

Everything I have searched indicates this error appears for people whom are losing their touchpad's function, which I am not experiencing at all. I am only noticing this error on a restart. I seemingly am have no adverse system issues so I'm not overly concerned just for curious than anything.

"rmi4_physical rmi4-00: Failed to read irqs, code=-6"

my system,

Lenovo T440s, 12Gb, i7
Kernel: x86_64 Linux 5.4.60-1-lts
DE: Xfce4
WM: Xfwm4

Hi everyone.

I’ve got the exact same problem on my thinkpad T440p : I have absolutely no malfunction with my touch pad but get a "rmi4_physical rmi4-00: Failed to read irqs, code=-6" every time I shut down my computer.

I tried everything I found on the internet, but nothing worked for me.

Has anyone found the solution for this?
I have the same problem with thinkpad e540. It takes about 90s to shutdown on reboot.
