Previously, GTK menus would underline the character in each menu item corresponding to the key that would invoke it. I understand (from https://fossies.org/linux/gtk+/NEWS) that this functionality was removed as of version 3.9.8 of GTK, which was released several years ago, but I'm pretty sure I had this functionality until quite recently, when it disappeared. I regard its removal as a retrograde step. Is there a known way to restore the functionality? If not, what would be the best route to petition the GTK developers to restore it?
