[SOLVED] Blender LTS in repos?
Yesterday there was an update for blender
It's now 2.9
But 2.83 is not obsolete. It's going to be supported till the second quarter of 2022
I don't know who decides but could there be mainline and LTS version in official repository?

For production it’s recommended to always use the latest stable release.
Arch Linux strives to maintain the latest stable release versions of its software
Blender 2.90 seems to be latest stable release, by packaging it we're following our own rules.
Having both the latest stable and LTS versions in official repos is not common in archlinux .
For kernels devs made an exception, do you have good reasons why such an exception should be made for blender ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

To be honest I always use the latest Blender version possible.
But some time ago I read on Blender site:
The Blender LTS program is aimed at ensuring that long-lasting projects can be executed using a stable Blender version
And If I'm correct currently there are two stable versions of Blender. 2.8x (aka LTS) and 2.9x. I would compare those versions to Ubuntu. Both are stable but one can be stable more 
.
Like I said. I don't need (for now) Blender LTS, but I was just curious if it is possible for both versions to exist in official repos.
At the end I believe that it is possible but it won't be done if there is no particular reason for that (quite reasonable).
