Place in forum to find coding projects for newbies

Hello all,

So I just signed up for Github. I made about 6 hours per day that I can use to get involved with subjects I'm personally passionate about. One thing I want to do is to find a community where I can learn more coding through participating in projects. My question here is does this forum have a section where I can see what current projects people are openly collaboring in?

btw I've officially joined Github (username Lemanr-ops) as I've heard many times that this is a great place to look. I just really like the arch community so wanted to see if there was a place where I can keep an eye on current open projects. As for how much a newbie I am with coding, I'm at the point with C++ & R that I can probably teach myself how to do things I don't know how to do and have completed 2 other data processing projects on my own (both small projects, only 1000 lines)

Linux journey (approximately) Ubuntu -> Arch -> Debian -> Manjaro -> NixOs -> (attempted: unresolved hardware issues) gnu guix -> Gentoo -> Fedora -> Arch (current) (very outdated but back to arch as I put together my own distro).
