Black screen on resume from suspend with Nvidia proprietary drivers

Hello,
I'm running the 5.8.10 kernel and version 455.23.04-11 of the Nvidia proprietary drivers, with i3 as a display manager and lightdm as the greeter. When I suspend the computer and then try to resume, I get no video output. I can, however, switch to tty2, which displays properly. If I shift to tty1 I see that it's stopped at "Starting Authorization Manager." I can also restart lightdm from tty2, which starts a new graphical session successfully.

This thread https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424311 led me to wonder: is this a known problem with the Nvidia 450+ drivers that I'll just have to live with until Nvidia fixes it, or is this something I might be able to fix? If the latter, what logs would it be most useful to see?

Thanks!
