[Solved] Lenovo Thinkpad X13 AMD with 4k external display

Hi,

I have troubles getting my external 4k display to work with my Lenovo X13 and AMD GPU.

I attached it with a High speed HDMI cable.
The connection works as long as I do not go further than FHD resolution. For higher resolution I only get a blank screen. No errors printed in X.org.0.log.

Is this a driver issue? If yes, where can I ask for help?

"Premium" High Speed or just High Speed (Yes it is absolutely insane that this is an actual relevant differentiating factor)? High Speed Cables will only net you 4K30 which is in turn something the rest of the system likely doesn't really support: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Cables

In any case the only way we can actually help to define whether this is a driver or else issue is with more information, post that xorg log and

xrandr -q
dmesg

in [ code ] [ /code ] tags without the spaces.

I'm sorry, its indeed just the cable!

With refresh rate of 30 Hz it worked and also tried another High Speed Cable (Amazon Basic) which also worked at 60Hz.
