navigation software
Hello dear Arch users,
I am looking for a free (GPL) software which provides : "offline openstreetmap".
Ideally with GPS support.
I had a look to navit and also Marble.
But I even cannot make my USB GPS working.
Can someone provide me the best softwares to make a soft stack working?
Does navit can fit the need?
But navit configuration seems very hard to perform.
If I understood right, ones need to modify the XML files by hand...
And with Marble I cannot make my GPS supported...
Can one tell me which GPS USB device works fine?
Of course the softwares has to be activelly developped and so not dead code from old past. :-)

I forgot to tell you that I will have to use the soft stack on an Arch GNU/Linux laptop, not from a smartphone or Android device.

Apart from navit, another option may be pure-maps with osmscout-server or OffRoadOSM
