[SOLVED] Can't install w/ RTX 30 series GPU (install iso doesn't work)

So I am trying to install a fresh Arch install on my rig with a newly-installed RTX 3090. Unfortunately, it hangs on the "nouveau: unknown chpiset" message. I can't even reboot with ctrl+alt+delete, I have to hold down the power button on the machine.

I have no integrated graphics, so that's not an option. But it's not an issue with nouveau, as Pop OS and Ubuntu install isos work perfectly fine. But with Arch-based isos, at least the two I've tried (vanilla Arch and Manjaro), they won't boot.

I get the exact same message when booting a Pop OS iso, but it still boots up fine, at which point I'm able to install the OS and then install the proprietary drivers.

I really don't want to use an Ubuntu-based distro, but right now I can't use Arch or anything based on it, and don't know what else I can do.

EDIT: Solution is to use both

nomodeset

and

nouveau.nomodeset=1

as boot options on the iso.

Try disabling KMS,  if that fails try blacklisting nouveau.

Thanks a lot, I'd tried nomodeset but it wasn't working, nouveau.nomodeset=1 enabled me to get the iso booted up long enough to install and get the Nvidia drivers installed. Thanks a lot, marking as Solved
