[SOLVED] Update when poweroff, vmlinuz not found etc

Hi, not sure if this is the correct subtopic, but I feel that my problem _should_ be very basic for some of you.

First of all, my system went off of power during an update. This results in my system to not boot anymore with the error "Cannot find vmlinuz-linux" or something alike.

What I did so far:

I followed the thread https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=250486
by first mounting /dev/sda5 (my linux partition) to /mnt/, then /dev/sda2 to /mnt/boot.
I did arch-chroot /mnt/ .
Then I executed pacman -S linux , like instructed. I had to reset the pacman database lock, but then the mentioned comand lists ldconfig errors as follows:

ldconfig: Datei »/usr/lib/libQt5WebEngineCore.so« ist am Ende abgeschnitten
(cut at end)
ldconfig: Datei »/usr/lib/libQt5WebEngineCore.so.5.15« ist am Ende abgeschnitten

Since my system is in german, I included a rough translation of the error in above code snippet.
Nevertheless, the system fails to install digimend-kernel-driver (but that should not prevent the system from booting), but generates the message "Image generation successful".

So far so good, I then executed  pacman -S mkinitcpio which resulted in the same ldconfig errors but successfully generated image.
At boot, grub bootloader does not show up anymore in the boot menu.
To have my system in a proper defined state, I did pacman -Syu which results  in an "error, no packages installed, conflicting files" with following conflicts due to existing files:

What can I do from here to fix these errors as well as have the system boot again?

Thy in advance

For the bootloader problem please share the output of

efibootmgr -v

That command can be run from any live environment booted in UEFI mode.

I managed to have pacman run through by following the link given by you. thank you
However, the ldconfig errors persist followed by

at execution of post-transaction hooks (error  correctly executing command)
(however digimend installs now)

efibootmgr -v (executed in arch-chroot) results in

Regarding the ldconfig errors, can I apply the link given to you to these files too (I read that some people tried this successfully, but since its another error, I wanted to explicitly ask)?

Looks like your motherboard has "forgotten" the NVRAM boot entries. Use the grub-install(8) command to generate a new one (or efibootmgr(8) if you're feeling 1337).

Thy,

grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot --bootloader-id=<Boot-Name> --recheck --debug

reinstalled grub and system is bootable again (I will take care of dualboot integration later). However, after mouse is loaded, sddm and or kde plasma do not seem to start, leaving the user stuck with only a mouse pointer.

I think these errors result due to the above mentioned ldconfig and other errors.

Try with -S first.  It may fail with conflicting files.  If it does use

pacman -S --dbonly $package
pacman -S $package

Thank you, this works. However, following errors persist:

ldconfig: Datei »/usr/lib/libQt5WebEngineCore.so.5.15.1« ist am Ende abgeschnitten

ldconfig: Datei »/usr/lib/libQt5WebEngineCore.so.5« ist am Ende abgeschnitten

And since one of them is Qt5, I think this one is preventing plasma to load

Try reinstalling all packages reporting altered files:

cdrdao: 16 total files, 1 altered file

Please prepend commands with LC_ALL=C so the output will be in English Code_of_conduct#Pasting_pictures_and_code.

Re: [SOLVED] Update when poweroff, vmlinuz not found etc

Wow, I did the

pacman -S --dbonly <pkg> && pacman -S <pkg>

for the packages qt5-webengine and llvm-libs and my system boots now, starts plasma and sddm.
Thank you all so much for your help. I consider this problem as solved then and will monitor upcoming errors.
