Hello, since last update OpenOffice 2.03 looks very very ugly but see it self.

Whats wrong?
If i change to Font Antialiasing in OpenOffice its a little bit better but then looks the Text like Blod.

It is a upstream problem in openoffice.org, it doesn't obey your anti-aliasing or hinting options under freetype 2.2
This will be fixed in openoffice.org 2.1
I have tried to backport a fedora fix for this, and I tried it with my OpenOffice 2.0.4rc3 build from aur but it didn't build. Even if it did build it would probably break some other stuff.
I guess we have to wait for a better patch of openoffice 2.1
In any case, it is definitely not a problem with your installation.

Using bytecode antialiasing will avoid this problem, FWIW, though apparently bytecode doesn't look very good on some monitors.

It's the great light hinting I showed in another post, dunno why it's default now
You're not the first one complaining about it; there must be a lot of mac haters

Here's a temporary fix for those who need unbroken openoffice:
wget ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/0.7.1/os/i686/freetype2-2.1.10-3.pkg.tar.gz
tar xfz freetype2-2.1.10-3.pkg.tar.gz
mv usr/lib/libfreetype.so.6.3.8 /opt/openoffice/program/libfreetype.so.6
This way openoffice uses the old libfreetype.so.6 and everything else uses the new one

added the old freetype to new 2.0.4 packages, will need some time to upload the stuff

wow! That was fast.
