So "Start with Jack" is not checked here. However, after starting Jack through Cadence:
$ ps aux | grep a2jmidi
ploppz 55924 0.0 0.0 13008 5352 ? S 18:59 0:00 /usr/bin a2jmidid dbus
ploppz 56073 0.0 0.0 6316 2128 pts/0 S+ 18:59 0:00 grep --color=auto a2jmidi
Which is not desired. `a2jmidid` was not running before I pressed Start.

Looks like something used Dbus to start a2jmidi .
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/D-Bus#Debugging lists some options to investigate what happens with dbus.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
(A works at time B) && (time C > time B ) ≠ (A works at time C)
