Dell XPS 13 (9350): erratic keyboard behaviour when charging via USB-C

For a long time I have used the proprietary Dell charger for charging my Dell XPS 13 (9350) laptop. Recently I obtained a USB-C charger from Lenovo. Charging the XPS 13 works, but the system becomes unusable. Everything is fine excpet for one thing: after plugging in the charger, keyboard input is slightly delayed and many key presses are skipped. You can only type really, really slowly and you have to check after every key press that the character is really detected. As I said, everything else seems to be fine, using the mouse, the system is responsive. Any ideas what to do or how to debug?

 $ uname -a
Linux gauss 5.8.13-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu, 01 Oct 2020 20:40:35 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Latest BIOS version is installed.

$ fwupdmgr get-devices

│ • Device is usable for the duration of the update

This error message appears when I unplug the USB-C charger.

$ dmesg

Plugging and unplugging the charger as seen from journalctl.

$ journalctl -b

Re: Dell XPS 13 (9350): erratic keyboard behaviour when charging via USB-C

I never found the cause of the above problem. The problem disappeared when I got a new USB-C charger.
