Simplifying live USB start.

Hi all,

I've just created a multisystem USB using MultibootUSB. It works fine, I can load any system but... When I try to load arch, I must go into legacy mode and such info appears based on SYSLINUX

Failed to load libcom32.c32
Failed to load COM32 file boot/syslinux /which sys. C32

USB is formatted to fat32. It contains multiple systems, including Windows 10.

When I press Tab and see available commands, one of them is 'sys'. When I type it, arch will load.

Simple copying c32 files from the existing, installed arch system does not work. So, I was wondering whether there is a way to simplify the process of starting live system (without Tab and command). Thanks

Hey.

From personal experience, I have found that multi-boot USB drives overall are not great, I have used multiple different multi-boot loaders and each of them has caused an issue with booting, the USB itself or just functionality in general. I do use a multi-boot flash drive for housing a multitude of troubleshooting tools but don't recommend them for distro ISO's

I recommend a good old single boot USB with the latest Arch ISO on it.

Also, I feel that this may not be the right place for this topic as multi-boot USB drives are not the focus of the Arch forums

Thanks for the reply. I found ventoy, which does exactly what it says on the tin. So, i have multiboot with no hassle.
Multiboot usb, unetbootin or multisystem aren't that great afterall...
I only don't know why all systems but arch work in Efi mode. Arch will load in legacy mode only. But overall I'm happy with the result.
