Automatically swapping escape with caps lock bluetooth keyboard

I have the following line in my i3 config:

exec setxkbmap -option caps:swapescape

This works for the inbuilt keyboard, but when I connect my bluetooth keyboard, I need to rerun the command in order to swap the keys on the new keyboard. I therefore want to automatically run this command whenever my keyboard connects. I have looked through both the bluetooth and bluetooth keyboard wiki pages. I also considered using a udev rule, but I don't see any way I can identify the keyboard using a udev rule (and the wiki page is quite confusing to me).
