automounting mp3 player in kde

Hi -
I really like kde feature where usb devices appear on the desktop, where they can be easily mounted. This is important for my wife cos she is techno-phobe!
when I plug my mp3 player (ibead400) everything work fine, it goes to /dev/sda1 and I can mount from desktop.
But - my wifes player (iaudio u3) is always on /dev/sda and kde does not like this. If I try to mount it say 'permission denied'.
Why do this player go to /dev/sda, not /dev/sda1?
Is there some way to make it work on kde anyway?
thanks for your help.

Re: automounting mp3 player in kde

Strange... My iAudio (although it's an M5L) comes up as /dev/sda1...  Anyway, I found that my card readeruses /dev/sda instead of /dev/sda1, so I just added an extra line to /etc/fstab saying that /dev/sda can be mounted the same as /dev/sda1.  I can't remember if KDE likes it, but "mount /dev/sda" and "mount /dev/sda1" do the right things when expected to.

Another alternative is write a udev rule that makes /dev/sda1 link to /dev/sda when it detects her MP3 player, then it should behave normally.  The reason I havn't done this myself, is because I literally just thought of doing it...
