Hi folks, today I updated the system and during the upgrading of the brltty package this message appeared:
upgrading brltty [####################] 100%
Please add your user to the brlapi group. There was nothing about it online, or better, nothing I was able to find, can I go ahead adding the main user to this group?
As always thanks for the support

That message was added in https://github.com/archlinux/svntogit-p … b957bf97e7 in February 2012.
Edit:
Missed the message was in fact present even earlier.

Do you use brltty and/or own a braille display? If not, do you need this package?
If you do, have you managed to cope without being a member of this group up until now? Please let the maintainer know that the group membership message may be outdated by filing a ticket on the bug tracker (I think this would fall under the "general gripe" category).

Actually not, to be honest I wasn't even aware that it is a braille display driver. For sure I did not installed it myself, it probably came as dependency for some other package. So, since I'm lucky enough to be using my own eyes, I assume I can remove it ?

Yes and apparently I got this extra package that I don't need (orca), while qemu is required by gnome-boxes. BTW, I don't use it.
