NVC0 on Nouveau driver semi-freezes when playing video

I seem to be having an issue that I've only ever experienced after upgrading to kernel 5.9.1, where the system will essentially freeze (or, more accurately, slow down to <1Hz refresh) when multitasking while video is playing in the background. Mouse input will only move a pixel or two at a time, although I can still hear the video's audio. I have not tested this issue out with other graphically-intensive tasks, but I fear the result would be the same.

Is there a workaround to prevent this? Also, is this something I should report?

I would say, sadly, this is the normal behavior of this driver. You can report this to upstream.
