[Solved] Steam not detecting mounted drives

I've changed the mount point all over the place. I've tried /var/games, even just putting it in the /home directory. But no matter where I put it, or the permissions of the directory, steam isn't detecting it. I do have a steam library on it.
I've spent countless hours looking for a workaround before coming here but honestly haven't found anything that could explain why my drives are literally invisible to steam's file explorer. Using on Gnome 3.38.1 if that's for some reason relevant, and this drive has been used on steam installed on linux, back when I was still using Ubuntu. I know I'm probably not giving much info to go on, but I don't really have much to give. there aren't any error reports to give, and anywhere I put the mount point makes no difference, any advise is appreciated....

It does not make a difference to steam whether a directory a library resides on is mounted or not and it should be irrelevant where it is placed as long as your user can see it.

The only time I could think of where that might not be the case is if you use a  sandbox like flatpack, is that the case here?

Is the drive accessible,visible and writable to your user? What's your output for

mount
stat $mountpoint$ $file on mountpoint$

I don't remember doing it through flatpack... I remember just using pacman to install it. This really confuses me man

I assume you've tried to add the directory as a Steam Library? Steam doesn't autodetect this.
