[SOLVED] Not able to use CJK font on Urxvt

I have tried to use Noto Sans Mono CJK SC as a fallback font for displaying Chinese characters but it does not seem to work. Right now I have it configured so it is my main font. The font has a huge spacing and when I write a Chinese character instead of the character a "?" appears. If instead of "URxvt.font: xft:Noto Sans Mono CJK SC" I put "URxvt.font: xft:Noto Sans Mono" it looks fine (but without CJK support). That makes me think that the problem is that the font is not installed correctly in the system but I can find the font with the font manager and the characters are displayed correctly there.

I have tried that and the spacing now is normal but when I copy and paste Chinese characters to the terminal it still shows "?"

The font does seem to provide at least that glyph - do you get that in urxvt?
(Best provide an example for "Chinese characters" - there're quite some ;-)

Yes, that glyph is not shown in urxvt and it is a quite common one, so it should be covered by that font.
If I open the font manager (this one: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/font-manager/) I can find the glyph there.

Let's ensure there's nothing else getting in the way:

urxvt -fn "xft:Noto Sans Mono:size=20,xft:Noto Sans Mono CJK SC:size=6"

(should get you a ginormous terminal font and a very small 汤)

Other than that I'd suggest to use https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/rxvt … ideglyphs/ - compiling yourself also allows you to enable pixbuf (if you want a background image)

Yes, the terminal font is really big but the glyph is not showing.
I also have tried to install the other urxvt package and it does not seem to change anything.
