gst-plugin-libde265

In the Wiki, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GS … stallation , it is advised to install the plugin gst-plugin-libde265 in order to use libde265 in GStreamer.
The package is orphanated, tho. Is this relevant in any way? Does this mean it is not required anymore by gstreamer?

Re: gst-plugin-libde265

Do you require libde365 to be the provider of h265 decoding?  If not h265 support is in gst-libav and gst-plugins-bad.

Re: gst-plugin-libde265

I don't quite follow you, @loqs. Excuse me for my ignorance, but how would I know if I require libde265 to be the provider for this decoding? What should I base that decision on?

Re: gst-plugin-libde265

Do you have any contents encoded with h265 that does not play using a gstreamer based player when either gst-plugins-bad or gst-libav is installed?

Re: gst-plugin-libde265

I uninstalled gst-plugin-libde265, I checked and it can decode h265 videos. So I guess the support from gst-libva and gst-plugins-bad is enough. Also it shows in `vainfo` and `gst-inspect-1.0 vaapi`.
Thanks for the insight.
