MSI P14 A10SC stuck at 400MHz when the lid is close

Hi,

I have this problem with my laptop, when the lid is open the cpu scaling works like a champ but as soon as I close the lid it freeze the CPU freq at 400MHz, no mater the load neither the temp. Does anyone has any clue what could be going on?

Edit: It looks like Windows presents the same behaviour, perhaps this is something to do with the BIOS....

Re: MSI P14 A10SC stuck at 400MHz when the lid is close

I just discovered (from stumbling onto this page: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1222877 … is-closed) that I'm running into the same issue.  (On a MSI Modern B10MW.)  This is a huge nuisance!  If you find a way to disable this behavior, please do share!

Finally I implemented a hardware workaround but it would be nice to know if anyone found a software solution to this issue...

You can find the hardware modification at:
