System Freezing when using VLC

When I use VLC on the latest kernel 5.9.5-zen the system display freezes but sound keeps working and my mic keeps working too. This only happens when using VLC. Furthermore, if I switch to the LTS Kernel the issue stops happening. The freezes are completely random when using VLC. Sometimes it's after 10minutes sometimes after 1 hour. Anyone know why? I'm using the latest nvidia-dkms.

System:
CPU: I5 6500
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
