Is there a simple way to modify the desktop menu gnome.

Hi

When I right click in an unused desktop area a menu pops-up. I'd like to add items to this menu. For example launch a terminal (as it   is done in ubuntu). Any Ideas how to do it.

I don't think there is an easy way. The code which handles the background menu is in ui/backgroundMenu.js - you can extract all gnome shell javascript code from /usr/lib/gnome-shell/libgnome-shell.so using gresource. There may be a gnome shell extension which does what you are asking.
