Try adding the output of "hostname" to /etc/hosts, and the end of the line that starts with "127.0.0.1". If that doesn't work, try "dbus-launch thunar" and see if that's faster.

I'm having the same problem, with most apps.


And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you though?

Don't really know, but I have a suspicion it's an ipv6 related problem (which Xorg use...) - <a href="http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/IPv6_-_Disabling_the_Module">Try to disable it</a>. Good luck!
