Many issues with phoronix-test-suite

Hi,

I am trying to do a bit of overclocking in my CPU and I wanted to test the actual differences between different configuration by using some tests from the phoronix-test-suite. I installed this package from AUR and then I listed the available test suites with

$ phoronix-test-suite list-available-suites | grep Processor
  pts/chess - Chess Test Suite Processor
  pts/compiler                     - C/C++ Compiler Tests             Processor
  pts/compression                  - Compression Tests                Processor
  pts/cryptography                 - Cryptography                     Processor
  pts/multicore                    - Multi-Core                       Processor
  pts/renderers                    - Renderers                        Processor

If I try to install, for example, the first one pts/chess to test the CPU, two tests fail to install.

The following tests failed to install:

  - pts/lczero-1.5.1
  - pts/n-queens-1.2.1

If I open the logs mentioned in the installation output, I see the following errors

meson.build:87:0: ERROR: File libs/lczero-common/proto/net.proto does not exist.
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgomp
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

The first error I'm lost, it looks like a file is missing. The second one seems to be related to GOMP library. But this has been merged into mainline GCC, so I don't know what is missing.

Same happen whens I try to install other suites. Usually one or two tests fail to install. Doing a quick search on the Internet I couldn't find any recent posts with people having similar issues, so I don't know if it's something related to my system, the package in AUR or something else.

Is anyone actively using phoronix-test-suite with Arch? And in particular, has anyone had similar issues when trying to install test suites?

Re: Many issues with phoronix-test-suite

Apologies for bumping an old thread, but did you find a solution for this?

I'm also facing the same error, but it's a different suite.

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgomp

pts/n-queens-1.2.1

The source for n-queens is from 2004 and seems to be available only from phoronix itself .

see https://openbenchmarking.org/innhold/65 … d67283591f .

lc-zero should work though.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
