Problem with mathematical symbols in pdf-viewer

Hello. I have a problem with some mathematical symbols in Mate Desktop standtart prf-viewer (Atril).

After this become little better. some symbols have appeared. But on can't undrerstand what else i need to do, to display symbols on my first pic?

What is the output of `fc-match Symbol` prior to adding that rule for Symbola?

The pdf looks fine for me on mupdf.  The Symbol font is provided on my system by ttf-dejavu, but even after removing that it looked fine as Symbol was than matched by Verdana from ttf-ms-fonts.

Have you tried any other pdf viewer?

i have tried qpfviewer, same problem(

Is that fc-match output from before you added the symbola rule?  I was assuming before you added the rule to use symbola, that some other font was used - I'd like to know which one.  I'm not familiar with ttf-symbola so it'd be good to rule that out as the cause of the problems.  As mentioned I can see that when the Symbol font is matched/provided by ttf-dejavu or Verdana (from ttf-ms-fonts) the pdf displays fine here.

I was going to try ttf-symbola to test here, but apparently installing that font requires installing 250MB of depdencies including GTK3.

Thank you for answer. Nope, i have created my own config for that font. I will try ttf-dejavu

So, i have tried mupdf. It opens without any problems.
