One of the big changes from Thunderbird 68.x to 78.x versions is that the calendar extension (Lightning) is now built-in in the email client.
However, since the update, syncing CalDAV calendars in Thunderbird 78.x is unbelievably slow when compared to Thunderbird 68.x + Lightning. From a few seconds to 10-15 minutes.
I have opened a bug report in their bugzilla, but maybe someone around here faced similar issues now that Thunderbird 78.x arrived to [extra] and came up with a workaround.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Iyán
Update 19.12.2020
A workaround is to use TbSync (as suggested by @Tarqi) and the provider for CalDAV & CardDAV

Try the TBsync extension with its caldav-addon.

Hi Tarqi, thanks for the suggestion. It runs fast with the extension you suggested me. I will update the information in the bug report.
