Proc Error

Hello,
during the usage of arch linux, I get the same error several times during the boot session:
proc: Bad value for 'hidepid'

Is this error any serious and does anyone of you know how to solve it?

Thank you a lot.

Re: Proc Error

Did you even try a web search.

EDIT: you seem to be developing a habit of posting error messages here without having made any attempt to search for answers yourself first.  Break this habit.  Such behavior is not welcome here.

Yes, I tried searching for that error on the web. However, there was not a thorough answer that would solve it.

Re: Proc Error

There was exactly one result from duck duck go (now two as this thread is included) and it includes a comprehensive answer to your exact question.  What more do you want?  What did you not get from the answer you found?  Why did you not mention that you found and answer but wanted further information?

Re: Proc Error

My search brought up this thread. ツ So, thank you othersamo_.

I guess I'm getting this because I use an LTS kernel with a new systemd? Inferring from the information here: https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/16896

Exactly the same situation here. I use LTS and probably the newest systemd. However, according to the article on github, it is nothing serious.

Can you not PM users about stuff like this and instead link to such a thread?
When users like myself search Google, all the results are threads with other users complaining and berating others. Geez.

It's users like this guy who start forums. In this web forum's beginning life, when activity was low, these users were welcomed and valued; their questions help to make the forum what it is today. Now that the forum is busy, users like this get berated. This practice is the reason why traditional forum software is dying off.

For me, I ended up switching to LTS kernel version 5.4. That resolved.

(hopefully, mods can see this and change some rules, to help maintain/improve the quality of treads. Or berate me as well. Either way just my 2 cents. I have enjoyed these forums for years and will continue to do so.)
