[SOLVED]Wireless adapter turned off by default

Hello, I'm attempting my first installation of archlinux on my existing machine, but I'm having troubles getting it connected to the internet because whenever I list devices in IWD I find that my wireless adapter is stuck powered off (a property that cannot be changed), but I have no clue as to how or why that is the case. Getting an ethernet adapter is out of the question at the moment since I am not in an area near a port at the moment so what steps can I take to get the wireless adapter turned on? This is to be a dual-boot setup so I am very sure that the wireless network adapter works just fine since Windows uses it without any issues.
