[SOLVED] both speaker-test and aplay aren't working (ALSA errors)

As in title.
I cannot test / play sounds via neither speaker-test nor aplay.

$ speaker-test -c 2

speaker-test 1.2.4

Playback device is default
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels
Using 16 octaves of pink noise
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1075:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
Playback open error: -2,No such file or directory

$ aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1075:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
aplay: main:830: audio open error: No such file or directory

Sound output system and sounds are working good in Plasma and also within all other (also tested outputting multiple simultaneous sources) applications (VLC, YouTube on FireFox / Chromium, Steam, WINE games, ecc...).

That's to be expected if you use pulse or so and didn't configure the ALSA compat plugin, install pulseaudio-alsa.

If that is insufficient post

aplay -l
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
