[SOLVED] Intel HD Graphics 530 + GeForce GTX 960M Screen Tearing

My Asus Rog G551VW have the Optimus technology, it has an integrated and a discrete cards.

But I have the screen tearing problem, I tested my pc using testufo.

I am using:

KDE with SDDM, and linux-lts is my main kernel

kernel-lts: 5.4.85-1-lts
nvidia-lts: 455.45.01-7

These are the steps that I was walkthrough:

1) I installed these packges

sudo pacman -S xorg nvidia nvidia-lts nvidia-settings nvidia-dkms nvidia-utils lib32-nvidia-utils mesa-demos lib32-mesa-demos libva-vdpau-driver

NOTE: I removed xf86-video-intel

2) I copyed /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf

Hi, today this happened to me too (since many months of zero tearing issues) - similar laptop config but NVIDIA GTX 1050.
Let me say that this already happened in past - I use to fall back, for a while, to lts kernel (with lts nvidia drivers and kernel headers) - which also in this very occasion does not have any tearing issue.
This is of course not a solution, but I'm a frustrated Intel+NVIDIA laptop owner, which already fought this battle too many times.

Let me say that this already happened in past - I use to fall back, for a while, to lts kernel (with lts nvidia drivers and kernel headers) - which also in this very occasion does not have any tearing issue.
This is of course not a solution, but I'm a frustrated Intel+NVIDIA laptop owner, which already fought this battle too many times.

It's really odd, I am sure I did follow the arch's wiki step by step. And after this nothing!

Today I noticed new updates: the kernel, nvidia and some xorg packages. I did a full update for my system and restart the system then the tearing disappeared. Thank God.

As arch's nature a full update can break or fix you system. But in my case the update fixed my system.

A whoops sorry totally missed that, the 5.9 issues are fixed FWIW, that PRIME sync is broken is "new"
