Battery issues tracking

Have a cheap chinese laptop with z8350 processor. I'm facing some strange battery issues, laptop randomly switches off while on battery, battery monitor sometimes gets to endless switching between charging and discharging mode (with about 1 sec period). Dmesg doesn't show any errors. Where to start to track these issues?
