[SOLVED] Brother HL-L2352DW printer - move /opt to /usr/share

Hi everyone smile,

Does anyone know what changes I have to make to the original files in hll2350dwpdrv-4.0.0-1.i386.rpm or to the PKGBUILD in brother-hll2350dw so that the printer works with the files residing in /usr/share instead of /opt?

What I mean is I want to move /opt/brother to /usr/share/brother and get the printer to work with this path.

Thanks in advance for all the replies.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)

Thank you for your reply smile Unfortunately, I had read the article you linked but was still unable to make things work.

Luckily, I found out that I could use a generic driverless option (IPP Everywhere) in CUPS and it turned out to work like a charm smile

All I had to do was run the following to install my printer:

sudo lpadmin -p Brother -E -v "ipp://brother/ipp" -m everywhere

I consider this problem solved.
