speech-dispatcher ???

I've never used orca or speech-dispatcher before, but today, after updating my Gnome-based system, I kept hearing a voice message repeating: "it seems your speech dispatcher is working, but you know this sound put module, except me. Please check out your log file to see what is the problem is. You can find it in /var/log, /speech-dispatcher/speech.log, or in your home in .speech-dispatcher, /log/speech.log"

None of the locations specified above exist, and Gnome was using about 10% of cpu time while it kept talking. This also happended right after rebooting a couple of times.

A quick search pointed to speech-dispatcher and orca, so I uninstalled them and it stopped... Any idea why it suddenly went crazy?

BTW I couldnt find mentions of speech-dispatcher in my dmesg or journalctl.

It does look like orca is supposed to start automatically , maybe it just didn't work for you prior to the update ?
