ctags is outdated, how can I request an upgrade?

I have an issue with ctags and typescript, and according to this message, upgrading ctags could resolve the issue.

It is flagged out of date which notifies the maintainer there is a newer release. Did you try locally rebuilding the package with https://github.com/universal-ctags/ctag … edba0d51ed which is the commit of the latest tag/release to see if it did resolve the issue?

Thanks loqs. The maintainer seems to have forgotten about this package, since he got notified back in October.
Anyways, I tried building manually, and it doesn't appear to have solved my issue, so I'll try something else
